FIELD NOTE 05 / PLATFORM SUPPORT
Crossplay.
One squad.
What the official record confirms for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series players.
Quick answer
Section titled “Quick answer”No More Room in Hell 2 supports crossplay across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The developer announced crossplay with the 1.0 console launch, and the Steam store lists Cross-Platform Multiplayer. Use the current in-game squad and crossplay prompts because the public official sources do not document one permanent click-by-click invite path for every platform.
Verification scope: Last reviewed August 23, 2026. This page confirms platform support and the launch-window crossplay-toggle caveat. It does not invent account-linking steps, menu locations, or platform-specific error fixes.
Supported platform group
Section titled “Supported platform group”| Platform | Officially in the 1.0 launch | Crossplay evidence |
|---|---|---|
| PC | Yes | Official announcement and Steam feature listing |
| PlayStation 5 | Yes | Official console and crossplay announcement |
| Xbox Series X|S | Yes | Official console and crossplay announcement |
The official April announcement describes crossplay as allowing friends to fight together wherever they play. The August launch post confirms that the game left Early Access on PC and arrived on consoles.
What to check before inviting a friend
Section titled “What to check before inviting a friend”- Confirm that every player is running the current game update.
- Follow the live squad prompt shown by each platform instead of an older video or Early Access menu.
- Check whether crossplay is enabled in the current build if matchmaking is unexpectedly narrow.
- Review the official known-issues post when a squad problem appears after a hotfix.
These are verification steps, not a claim that every joining problem has the same cause.
Current crossplay-toggle caveat
Section titled “Current crossplay-toggle caveat”The launch-week known-issues post says the developer was investigating adjustments to the crossplay toggle to improve matchmaking time for players with crossplay disabled. That statement confirms a matchmaking concern around the disabled state, but it does not establish a universal fix or guarantee that enabling crossplay resolves every squad error.
Crossplay is not cross-progression
Section titled “Crossplay is not cross-progression”Crossplay confirms that players on supported platforms can play together; it does not by itself confirm that one Responder or progression record transfers among Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation. Steam lists Steam Cloud, while Xbox lists Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox cloud saves, but the current official record does not establish universal progression transfer across all three platform families. For that reason, this site does not publish a separate cross-progression guide or promise a transfer path.
What is not confirmed here
Section titled “What is not confirmed here”- One universal invite-button sequence across all three platforms.
- A required third-party account-linking workflow.
- Universal cross-progression among Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation.
- A permanent menu location for the crossplay toggle.
- A verified fix for every failed squad invite, disconnect, or regional matchmaking issue.
