FIELD NOTE 08 / BUYING GUIDE
Game Pass
or PS Plus?
Separate a required online subscription from a game included in a subscription catalog.
Quick answer
Section titled “Quick answer”No More Room in Hell 2 is shown as a separate purchase on the official US Xbox and PlayStation stores. Xbox says Game Pass Core or Ultimate is required for console online multiplayer, and PlayStation says PS Plus is required for online play. Those requirements do not mean the game itself is included with either subscription.
Verification scope: Checked against the official US Xbox and PlayStation listings on August 23, 2026. Subscription catalogs, prices, and promotions can change; recheck your regional store before buying.
What each store currently says
Section titled “What each store currently says”| Platform | Game purchase | Online-play requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Xbox Series X|S | Standard and Deluxe editions are sold separately | Game Pass Core or Ultimate is required for console online multiplayer |
| PlayStation 5 | Standard and Deluxe editions are sold separately | PS Plus is required for online play |
| Steam | The PC game is sold through Steam | No console subscription applies |
Why the wording matters
Section titled “Why the wording matters”“Requires Game Pass” or “PS Plus required for online play” describes the console network service needed to play online. “Included with Game Pass” or inclusion in the PS Plus catalog would describe access to the game itself. The current official store pages establish the first point, not the second.
Before you buy
Section titled “Before you buy”- Open the official store for your platform and region.
- Check whether the page shows a purchase price or an explicit subscription-catalog badge.
- Budget for the required console online subscription if you plan to play multiplayer.
- Recheck near a sale or catalog update because availability can change without changing the game itself.
Limits
Section titled “Limits”This page does not predict future Game Pass or PS Plus catalog additions. It also does not treat a free weekend, store discount, or online-play subscription requirement as permanent ownership of the game.
