FIELD NOTE 20 / LIVE STEAM DATA
Player count
and charts.
Use a live Steam tracker for current concurrency, then read the number within its platform and timestamp limits.
Quick answer
Section titled “Quick answer”Use the live SteamDB chart below for the current No More Room in Hell 2 player count on Steam. The number is concurrent Steam players at that moment—not total owners, monthly active players, or the combined population on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. For the co-op party limit instead, the game supports up to eight online players.
Live-data rule: Never quote a player number without its platform and timestamp. Reviewed September 7, 2026; the embedded chart updates independently of this article.

What the live number means
Section titled “What the live number means”Concurrent player count is the number of Steam accounts running the game at the same time. It naturally rises and falls with time zones, weekends, sales, patches, and major updates. A snapshot taken now cannot describe the whole day, and a 24-hour peak cannot describe the average month.
The Steam chart also excludes players using PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Because official crossplay connects the supported platforms, a Steam-only count is useful for trend context but is not the total cross-platform matchmaking population.
Player count is not lobby size
Section titled “Player count is not lobby size”These two searches ask different questions:
| Question | Correct answer source |
|---|---|
| How many people are playing right now? | A timestamped live Steam chart, limited to Steam |
| How many people can play together? | Official store capacity: up to 8 online players |
| How many copies were sold? | Not answered by concurrent-player data |
| How many players are on every platform? | No complete public live total in the cited sources |
If you are deciding whether a friend group fits in one session, use the co-op player limit, not the global chart. If you are checking activity before matchmaking, compare the live count with the time of day and remember that your mode, region, difficulty, and crossplay setting can narrow the players available to you.
How to read Steam charts without misleading yourself
Section titled “How to read Steam charts without misleading yourself”- Check the chart timestamp and confirm it is for App ID 292000, not the original No More Room in Hell.
- Separate “players right now,” “24-hour peak,” and “all-time peak.”
- Compare equivalent time windows rather than one busy launch day with one quiet hour.
- Treat Steam as one platform slice, not a cross-platform total.
- Do not convert concurrent players into sales or unique monthly users.
The original No More Room in Hell uses a different Steam App ID. Search results can mix the two games, so the App ID check prevents a convincing-looking but wrong comparison.
Does player count guarantee fast matchmaking?
Section titled “Does player count guarantee fast matchmaking?”No. Matchmaking depends on more than the site-wide number: region, selected mode, difficulty, time, party state, and crossplay choices can all affect the available pool. The launch notes also document regional routing and crossplay-toggle issues that have changed through hotfixes.
Use the live chart as activity context, not a promise that a specific queue will fill instantly. If a queue behaves abnormally, check the current known-issues page and the newest official update before treating the chart itself as the cause.
